Joining the luxury brands and celebrity chef restaurants coming to CityCenterDC is something a little more local: a farmers' market. Beginning June 17, FRESHFARM Markets will set up shop at 10th and I streets NW every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Like the market by the White House, this one will also focus on prepared foods for the lunch crowds. Among the new eats to District? Silver Spring restaurant and butchery Urban Butcher, which will sell hot sandwiches and cured meats. Handmade Chinese dumplings from Pinch and croissants from Frenchie's will also be available. Other vendors confirmed so far will include Black Rock Orchard, Capitol Kettle Corn, Cowbell Kitchen, and Postmodern Foods (organic, mostly raw foods). Many of the prepared foods incorporate produce and meats from the market's farmers.
