Summer Blagden Alley Naylor Court Association Meeting and Social
When: Tuesday 12 July 6-7 PM
Where: The Columbia Room “Punch Garden” Roof Deck, 124 Blagden Alley NW.  Enter stairs to the left of the Dabney.
What: We will have a social and a short meeting.  Derek Brown has graciously agreed to provide an initial “Punch” and the Association will provide some appetizers. Please thank Derek and the Columbia Room by sticking around and buying more drink/food after!

Social will begin at 6:00
About 6:15 we will open the meeting.  Brief updates will be provided by Charlie Bengel ANC 2F06, Sherri Kimbel from Jack Evans office, Jim Loucks and I from the Community Development Committee (ANC), Dave Ansell from the ABRA committee (ANC), some Q&A on neighborhood issues and then back to social by about 6:45.

Street Sweeping Canceled this week no need to move your car Wed or Thurs

Due to the reduced parking opportunities resulting from the Nuclear Summit - street sweeping will not be conducted on Wed or Thur this week so no need to move your car.

Nuclear Security Summit Neighborhood Impact the week of 27 March

Below are the details that Richard mailed out to everyone.  I attended the secret service briefing and can relate a few additional key facts:

1) Secret service press releases -  http://www.secretservice.gov/press/releases/

2) Mt. Vernon metro station will be closed plan on using a different station

3) The summit wraps up on Friday but they are giving themselves till noon on Saturday to clean up and reopen everything

4) The street closures that impact us kick in either Tuesday the 29th at 7PM or Wed the 30th

5) The parking restrictions kick in as early as Sunday the 27th, note that includes 10th Street south of N

6) You will be able to walk almost everywhere but have an ID with you

7) Blagden Alley can be accessed by car only from the 10th Street entrance, you'll need an ID

8) All the businesses will be open but in many case you'll have to walk in from 10th Street and park West of there

9) If you park in a garage inside the restricted zone - there is a way to get there - if you aren't sure try the secret service number 202.406.5708 or just ask them, they will be blanketing the area

WMATA CLOSURES
  •          DC Metro Train Stops-
  •    The Yellow and Green Line Trains will not stop at the Washington Convention Center. No other Metro stops will be affected by the Nuclear Security Summit.
  •          DC Metro Bus Stops-
  •    7th Street, NW and 9th Street, NW Street Bus Stops between N Street, NW and K Street. NW will be diverted around the Washington Convention Center.
